In addition to drawing and painting, students explore a wide range of crafts including pottery, handmade paper, recycling of paper, cotton spinning, weaving and textiles.
Our art and craft facilities are well resourced and grounded in Indian traditions and culture. Students are encouraged to learn and appreciate art, and to take pride and pleasure in colour and creativity.
The range is deliberate. Drawing and painting are where most school art begins and ends, and a child who takes to neither can leave believing they are not artistic — so the room puts clay, thread and paper in front of them as well. Pride and pleasure in colour, as the school puts it, are easier to find when there is more than one way in.
